Man arrested after stabbing at Ashland business – News – MetroWest Daily News, Framingham, MA


ASHLAND – A stabbing on Friday at a Nickerson Road company involving two employees appears to have been unprovoked, authorities said.

Police have arrested one employee after the noontime incident at Schlenk Metallic Pigments on 40 Nickerson Road, Police Chief Vincent Alfano said.

The man is being booked and his name and charges were not immediately released.

Witnesses said the suspect approached another employee at the company and began arguing with him before stabbing him several times, the chief said. The suspect then left the business.

“The other employees did a great job,” said Alfano. “They provided the victim first aid and followed the suspect while calling police and providing a description.”

Police quickly found the man as he was walking on Nickerson Road. Police arrested him at gunpoint. Police found the weapon in his possession, Alfano said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital by Ashland Fire Department paramedics. His condition is not known, but Alfano said the man was conscious and alert at the time he was taken to the hospital.

Investigators from Ashland police and Massachusetts State Police were still at the scene. It is not known what led to the stabbing, the chief said.
